Song to the Soul of an Old Guitar

strings of silver notes
strung tight bridge barriers,
soothe savage beasts

you sang
a song that set
the spirit free that we
might know its silvered symphony,
your voice

a magic realm of melody
beyond the pull of gravity
and now you sing from honeyed throat
where sweet dreams float on silver notes
