A Rainy Night in May

In the fog of a moonless night
a distant angel
wing-whispers song,

Even the shadowed trees
seem pensive,
the wind is sighing.

What is there to regret?
Only the oblivion
of forgotten faces

and maybe
the silken rose
gone sere.

The candle flickers,
the fog drifts away,
the angels endure.

There’s a hint of dawn
on the horizon, We celebrate
the promise of sun.
