Habits are first cobwebs, then cables*

Oh, the tranquil tug of gossamer,
the grace of giving in, the joy
of surrender every now and then.

So slowly a moment’s pleasure
morphs into desire
and where there was a gentle ember,
now burns a raging fire.

With the unmitigated facts
laid flat upon the table,
we see the joy ebb
as cobweb turns to cable.
