The story told so long ago
runs through my head today,
of Mary’s precious baby
born on a bed of hay. A King
born in a stable, our Savior
in a manger
and silently I wonder
as I drive with mad intent
to find the biggest bargain
of this Christmas sale event,
I wonder where the bible
in its wisdom and its might
taught me that the mall
is where I should be tonight
(still looking for a parking spot.)
