Gently Used

Bargains galore,
slightly used but gently,
aisle after aisle
of cast off memories:
Estate sales
Gifts that didn’t fit
An emerald ring
with a history untold
Fine crystal
imperfect with its tiny chip
but still with a sense
of elegance–
that rainbowed glass
like the bargain hunter
in the faded dress,
peering into the prism
of her past.

  1. Great Poem!! It reminded me of one I’d written decades ago, which I found, and am pasting here, just for the fun of it. Keep writing!!

    Rita,

Thanks for your visit. I removed your poem because this site is family rated.
